First Date is a very special moment!

First date with your Lady is a very special moment for both of you! It can be a start of a wonderful Romance that may grow into a happy marriage! Its very important what impression you and your Lady will have after the first meeting.

In Ukraine we take very seriously going on a date and prepare for it with great care. Usually ladies put on their best clothes and wear nice perfume, before the meeting they may visit a Beauty Salon to do nails, hair and make up. Not only the look but also the way you act is very important.

You may look every bit gorgeous but if you behave in unseemly manner it may ruin all the good impression and prospects for common future. Dating a foreigner is more challenging because of different Language, Culture and Life Style.

Clothing

First impressions are half the battle! The way you dressed tells a lot about the importance you attach to your meeting with the lady. Try to look representative. New clothes always help - but if not new, be sure they're clean, pressed, and fit well. Formal suit or just jeans and nice shirt or sweater will do. If you have a suit on make sure not to wear trainers/sneakers, its more common to have nice clean shoes matching your outfit.

If its summer time we dont recommend sportswear (shorts, baseball caps) for the first date. Its considered disrespectful. Sportswear is nice for countryside trip. Avoid very bright multicolored clothes as it will attract other people attention and it can be embarrassing for the lady.

Look

As we mentioned above Ukrainian ladies pay much attention to their look .They tend to look as nice as possible for a date. They expect the same from you! Out-of-condition hair or nails are not acceptable! Nice perfume is advisable.

Flowers

Dont forget to bring a nice bouquet of flowers for the first date. Your lady will appreciate it! It should be odd number of flowers according to our traditions.

Gifts

If you bring some nice gifts or souvenirs for your lady she will really love it. If your lady has a child it's very much appreciated to bring a nice present for him/her as well.

Photos

Your lady will be very glad to know more about your family and place where you live. Bring some family and home pictures to show your lady. If you have a photo album with pictures of your country it will be appropriate to bring it too.

Camera

Its wise to take a camera for a date to capture nice moments of your meeting!

Where to go

After meeting the lady in one of our offices its nice to go to a nice cozy cafe or restaurant for the first date. Ask your lady what cuisine and place she prefers. Its better to mention your lady that a quiet place will be more comfortable for your conversation. Then offer a cab if its not at a walking distance and go there:))

Money

Make sure to have your money converted into local currency Hrivnya before the meeting. You can do it at any bank or currency exchange office that are all around. You can also easily find ATM to get some local cash.

Manners

Thank the other person for the date

always, without exception. Good manners are still in style. Well, not necessarily good manners - but common sense. Human kindness. That sort of thing is always in style.

Focus on the Other Person

pay attention to your date. No wandering eyes. Be THERE.

Listen actively to what your date says.

Don't interrupt. While your date is talking, don't spend time thinking about what you're going to say when it's your turn.

Attitudes and Habits

stay positive. Don't complain on a first date. Be cautious about alcohol - if you drink heavily, you're not going to be at your best.

Be a Gentleman

hold the door open for your lady to come in or out. Help her to put on/off her coat (if needed). Do not speak loudly. Whistling and singing in public are considered in poor taste.

Offer a cab

When the meeting finished its very polite to offer your lady a cab home if she lives far distance from the place you met. If you really liked the lady you should make another appointment.
